NEWS: Hamilton apologises for the second time in two years in Melbourne

March 29, 2010 1 comment

Well, at least he’s keeping something consistent isn’t he…

It was a cracker of a race (as Steve Slater would put it) in Melbourne over the weekend with the Bulls of Sebastian Vettel and local darling Mark Webber setting the fastest times in qualifying on Saturday.

But as in Bahrain, the leading charge by Vettel ground to an agonisingly painful halt, literally, as his car’s braking system gave way under hard braking into turn 13 of the 20th lap, giving the German no chance in salvaging anything from his lead.

McLaren’s Jenson Button though was the main beneficiary of all the incidents, pitting early in the race when the track showed traces of a drying racing line, and overtaking several cars and setting the fastest lap of the race a lap from exit.

But it was his team mate, Lewis Hamilton, who found himself in the spotlight once again even before the racing had started. Read more…

If your name was either Stefan or Montezemolo, your republics Air Force hotline would be on speed dail ahead of your Mom’s. But what if you made a slow entry-level car? Like a really slow car.

The Clio however, costs $67,999 here. Read more…

To shed some light on recalls though, there can be two kinds – recalls made to correct major problems that can cause serious injuries or death and recalls made to correct minor problems that just cause inconveniences.

And the recalls can be made in two ways. Read more…

NEWS: Audi initiates ad war with BMW AGAIN!

March 2, 2010 Leave a comment

They’re at it once again.

Last year the boys from Germany took pot shots at each other on the large billboards all over America proclaiming their brand and taking a dig at either of their competitors in one of the more interesting automobile ad wars we’ve seen in some time.

With 2010 started, Audi decided to swing the first punch (video below) with their 30 second tv spot that clearly states that there can never be two winners in anything, how they won three car and driver comparisons in a row and how BMW knows how it feels being second best. Read more…
